Trees and Shadows

It seems that I am drawn to shadows cast by trees. I was looking through my archives and saw this trend. Here are some examples. Also, if you haven't already, become a fan on myface.

Random Photoshop Fun

My absolute favorite website, Crailtap, is hosting a contest to win the Tony Hawk Ride video game. Entrants must incorporate skateboarders Alex Olson and Mike Mo Capaldi into a ridiculous video game scenario. Since I don't have much going on these days, I figured I could enter this contest and at the same time hone my photoshop skills. These are my entries--nothing complex, but still fun to do.

UPDATE: 11 December 2009--I won!!! Check out The Daily Randoms on the left. Thanks Crailtap!!!

Limited Edition Magazine

I am in the process of producing a limited edition magazine with photographs from my most current project, Introducing Nature. The edition will be limited to 50 copies which will be signed and numbered. Hopefully I will have finished in the next couple weeks. It will be small, around 16 pages, but that also means it will be cheap. Probably around five dollars. So, set a Lincoln aside and stay tuned...

Behind the Scenes

Yesterday I went out to shoot some stuff since I am out of school, don't have a job, and it was overcast. If you haven't already done so, go to my website to see what these behind the scenes shots are all about.

Christmas Tree

Today they set up a Christmas tree in front of Ellen's work. Thank goodness they waited at least until close to Thanksgiving. I'm really glad Savannah isn't one of those pre-Halloween Christmas places.

Happy Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico Day!!!

I have decided to start a new holiday to celebrate the late, great photographer Ansel Adams. It takes place October 31st (today)--more specifically at 4:05 pm. This is when one of his most famous photographs, Moonrise, Hernandez, New Mexico, was taken. So grab your view cameras and stop down to f/64 for this momentous occasion!

Old Negative

About four months ago we were in Zion National Park. I shot a bunch of digital stuff and never posted any of it. I also made two photographs with my 4x5 camera. I didn't develop those negatives until a month ago and didn't scan them until two days ago. Here is the one I like the most. It was the fourth time I shot at f/64. I don't know how I remembered that.

Digital Collages

We made collages in photoshop for an assignment in my digital photography class. Almost all the content of the images was torn out of magazines. And if you were wondering, yes, that is Little Jerry Seinfeld.

Life Lessons from Graduate School

Today I learned that I need to dilute the film developer. These negatives have a salted paper print future now. Amateur hour.
