To Ohio and Back

This weekend Ellen and I went to Cedar Point Amusement Park and then to Stow, Ohio to visit the Garrison family. While in Stow we went on a short hike to the Virginia Kendal Ledges at Cuyahoga Valley National Park. They were very interesting to walk in and above. There also were caterpillars everywhere. Today we returned to Sanford, and tonight there was a good opportunity for a panorama on the lake.

Fishing in Sanford Lake

A couple days ago Ellen and I tried our hand at fishing off the dock in her parent's backyard. Ellen caught two fish and I caught one. All were very small. Better luck next time, I suppose.

Rogers Athletic Company

This summer I am doing photography work for Rogers Athletic Company. So far I have been testing out lighting schemes and familiarizing myself with all the gear. We found this really cool, old bag while cleaning out an area of a building. I thought it would be a cool subject to use while getting to know the equipment.

Lizards and Snakes Alive!

Yesterday Ellen, her brother Brian and I went to the Midland Center for the Arts where there was an exhibit with a bunch of lizards and snakes. It was pretty awesome. These are some of the guys that were on display.

Tulip Festival

Yesterday Ellen and I went to Holland, MI for the annual Tulip Festival. We went to a place called Windmill Island where there is an authentic imported Dutch windmill and a miniature Dutch shopping center (where one can buy wooden shoes, of course). We were able to go on a tour of the windmill which is still used to grind flour. We also walked around town and saw lots of tulips and dancers wearing wooden shoes. It was pretty fun.
